Austin Marathon Launches Interactive App

AUSTIN, Texas, October 19, 2016 — High Five Events, one of the largest privately owned event production companies in the United States, is excited to announce the launch of the Austin Marathon® presented by NXP app. The state-of-the-art app, which is powered by FitRankings, will offer an interactive course map, highlight Austin-centric points of interest, send up-to-the minute, event-related push notifications, and provide runner tracking and results.

“Numerous ideas and hours have been put into the creation of this app and we’re proud of the outcome,” said Stacy Keese, co-owner of High Five Events. “This app will be used by participants, volunteers, and spectators alike. They can interact socially, see where their loved ones are on course, and receive up-to-the-minute information.”

In addition to the attributes mentioned above, the Austin Marathon app will also allow participants, volunteers, and spectators to build their race-week and race-day schedule, receive real-time alerts through LISNR’s beacon technology, and interact with the marathon’s social media platforms. Participants will be able to shop at the Austin Marathon Store and take photos with customized picture frames. The Austin Marathon app powered by FitRankings is available now in the iTunes App Store and on Google Play.

“FitRankings’ mission is to connect the world through fitness, said Patrick Hitchins, CEO of FitRankings. “Austin is one of the nation’s fittest cities and a center for tech innovation. We are excited to help power the Austin Marathon using our technology.”
