Fit Foodie 5k

The Fit Foodie 5k is coming up here in Austin on May 20th 2017. Not only does the Fit Foodie 5k promote the combination of healthy food and a healthy lifestyle, they actually have partnered up with No Kid Hungry. Many of us know that hunger among children happens in other countries, but it also is happening RIGHT HERE in America. According to the No Kid Hungry website, 1 in 6 children live in homes that struggle to provide food for their families. You might have heard that many things are big in Texas, with that being said, in the year 2010 the percentage of food insecurity in Texas was 27.4 percent. I know that many Texans have a big heart, and if there is something that you could do about it, then you will. When you sign up for the Fit Foodie 5k, you are making a difference in a child’s life. No Kid Hungry helps to provide and educate families on how to make food that is healthy and affordable.

The Fit Foodie 5k has many opportunities to give which include registering for the race, buying some Fit Foodie Gear, and making your donations online. When you register for the race, you will receive your race bib, delicious food at each mile, a medal for finishing, celebration drinks for completing the race, a goody bag, access to the John Hancock Vitality Village Food and Fitness Festival, and of course donation to No Kid Hungry. There is a cash reward for top finishers too!
So make a difference in a child’s life and sign up today or make a donation.  Happy running friends!!
