TriggerPoint Performance Inc., an Austin-based company that makes and markets self-care equipment which is popular with runners and cyclists, has been acquired by Implus. Known for its foam rollers and TriggerPoint massage sticks, the company was founded in 2002 by Cassidy Phillips who started out by selling products out of the back of his RV.
“The addition of the TriggerPoint brand to the Implus family bridges current markets of run specialty and fitness as well as opening new possibilities to build incremental business in new channels,” said Todd Vore, the president of Implus.
Vore says that partnering with Implus will allow TriggerPoint to increase its product innovation and global presence.
“I am proud to be joining the Implus team and be part of their innovative approach to development and distribution of consumer products,” said Phillips. “There comes a time in a company’s growth that you can no longer do it alone. Implus brings us the efficiencies we need to continue our efforts and stay true to our mission to care care of those that are in need of better movement.”
No purchase price was announced, but TriggerPoint will remain in Austin.
