2017 Austin Marathon and Half Marathon Seeks Charities for Austin Gives Miles

Apply Today!

The Austin Gives Miles application process for the 2017 Austin Marathon and Half Marathon presented by NXP is now open. The deadline to apply for Austin Gives Miles is Monday, June 20th.

Austin Gives Miles is the Official Charity Program for the event and will continue to support the Central Texas community by allowing 26 nonprofit organizations the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for their cause. While registering for the marathon or half marathon, runners can opt-in to fundraise for their favorite nonprofit while they train. Entering its fourth year, AGM’s fundraising goal for 2017 is $500,000.

“Austin Gives Miles is a program working to push forward the missions of the Central Texas charities that our runners love and support,” said Carly Samuelson, Austin Gives Miles Charity Manager. “I am confident that this will be our best year yet!”

After the June 20th deadline, High Five Events will review the applications and notify accepted charities by Monday, June 27th. Charities will be selected based on their connection to the Central Texas region as well as their ability to recruit charity runners. Providing race day volunteers and their passion for fundraising for their cause will factor into the final decision as well.

“Austin Gives Miles is absolutely the BEST event for Blue Dog Rescue on so many levels,” said Kathy Adaky, Blue Dog Rescue Event Coordinator. “It’s our biggest fundraiser each year and it enables us to continue to foster and find permanent homes for many homeless dogs that need costly medical treatment and rehabilitation prior to adoption.”

This year, the Austin Gives Miles program is partnering with CrowdRise as it’s online fundraising platform. CrowdRise is the world’s largest and fastest growing online platform dedicated exclusively to charitable fundraising. CrowdRise is used by millions of individuals, tens of thousands of charities, hundreds of companies, and many of the most famous artists and athletes in the world to creatively leverage their resources and networks to unlock the power of the crowd and raise hundreds of millions of dollars to support positive social missions.

Local and national nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for one of the 26 available slots. Questions about the Austin Gives Miles program or an application status can be directed to Carly Samuelson. Her contact information can be found with the application.
