Registration for the 2015 running of the world’s oldest continuous marathon–the Boston Marathon–got underway this morning. Registration is open in various waves.
This morning registration is open for runners who have met their qualifying standard by 20 minutes or faster. On Wednesday, qualifiers who have met their qualifying standard by 10 minutes or faster may register, assuming space remains. This Friday (September 12th) qualifiers who have met their standard by five minutes or faster can register.
On Monday, September 15th, all qualifiers who have met their time standard can submit an entry, pending available space in the race.
Registration closes at 4 p.m. (Austin time) on Wednesday, September 17th. Registration between September 15 and 17 will be on first-come, first serve and the fastest qualifiers in their age group and gender will be given entry as the remaining space allows.
If there is still space in the race, registration will reopen on September 22nd to anyone who has qualified, again that will be subject to available space or until the cap is reached.
Last year more than 200 runners from Austin signed up, putting the city behind only Boston, New York and Chicago for most entrants.
